Why did I serve a mission? Yes, serving a mission is a hard thing to do. For two years I was only able to contact my family through letters, and a phone call for Christmas and Mother's Day. For the first time I was living on my own. Also, being from Utah, Arkansas was a strange place for me. Besides this, we worked twelve hour days, six days a week. So why did I choose to serve a mission? Simply because it felt like the right thing to do. And since that decision, the Lord has blessed me so much. "And everyone that hath forsaken houses, or brethren or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundred fold, and shall inherit everlasting life." (Mathew 19:29) Now I love teaching the gospel. It's so great to see the way it changes other peoples lives for the better. |
