The Outsider

I am the shadow that walks in the night
I am the one whose name you scream out in fright.
I run and hide to save my life
when someone shines in my eyes the blinding light
I scream with you and outloud I pray;
"Leave me alone! Let me hide from the day!"
but as you and your hunters track me down
and drag me out into the sun,
and as you hurry me through the town
I try to ruse and away run.

It's hard to believe that there is no one out there
whom I can call a friend.
It's hard to accept that I am all alone,
and it hurts to know I'll be feared until the end.
All I want is a sould to love me
and a place to call my own
but one thing I do know
and it makes you cry
is that you will be dull and lonely until you die
you fall apart when no one is around
you slowly sink six feet underground.

Oh, I can live in the darkness
which most of you fear
I roam where you dare not flee
and this to you I make clear.
I will one day see you all fall
you will come to your knees to which you will crawl
and I will stand alone in a void
I will rule  upon a golden thrown
as I watch what you have made tumble to the ground.
alone in the world I will be once again
alive to the fact that I survived you, the pain.
and when the earth rises once more
I will be loved, not feared as once before.

This one shall over come.
This one who has outlased her foes.
From the darkness I step out into the sun,
and be adourned in beautiful clothes.

But as I look toward your grave
and remember all you gave
the happiness whe shared long ago
before you turned into the ones who shunned me
and hid me away in the snow.
I am the one that falls to my knees
and I feel my heart stop
and my body freeze
my eyes see you, standing in the day
and then you say...

"Take me out into the sun,
"Let us live as before, so long ago,
Let is be again as one,
"Forgive me thus my woes.
"Let the birds fly so we can hear them sing,
watch as our lives grow and take wing.
Forget about the past behind is now,
"I will love you till the last,
"You can show me somehow.
"chase this darkness out of me,
"I've got so much more to give.
"I want to be what we were meant to be,
" 'tis the reason that I live.
"Then thousands years before,
"I promise you forever,
"Now I beg you to say no more,
"my love to you won't, ever."

So let the music play
and let the birds sing
no longer am I feared
nor do I fear the day.
so let's live on the sun
and dance upon the wind,
this wonderful life that's just begun
has promised not to end.
