Mid-Spring Garden |
I didn't begin taking many photos of our flowers until after all the spring flowers had died back this year. These are just a few that I did capture in their glory though. I can't wait until next spring to get some pictures of our other pretty spring flowers! |

This is one of our purple and white columbines. I purchased two of these last spring from Lowes. The first year, they were pretty small, but they really have taken off. They are perfect double starlike flowers and make a wonderful addition to our mid-spring garden. |

This is one of my favorite pansies that returns each year. It is a very deep purple, almost black. |

This is some of our mixed dianthus or sweet william. It keeps getting larger and larger with each year. I tried starting some of this from seed this year, but it takes 2 years to get a flowering plant. Since dianthus is often sold as an annual, it is usually just easier to purchase these at the store and plant them, rather than starting them from seed. |

These are some of our deep maroon pansies. These have been coming back for about 3 years now. |

I love wave petunias! We purchased a bunch of seedlings this spring off of Ebay. It took them a while to take off, but now we have petunias everywhere. They certainly brighten up our back deck with nice rich colors! |
