Our Mid-Summer Front Garden 2 |
|
|
|
This is part of our Mid-Summer (July and August) entrance flower garden. These are some of our prettier delecate flowers. My favorites are the lilies and white gladiolus plants. |

This is one of the dark pink oriental lilies from our garden. The tiger like stripes are much more pronounced in these lilies than our other varieties. They also seem to have loger stamens. |

This is one of our light pink oriental lilies. This plant is in it's third year of maturity. |

I love this photo because it combines two of my favorite dainty flowers together. I think this is such a pretty feminine picture! |

This is a white gladiolus plant. The bulb from this is in its third year and very massive as far as glads go. I am planning on redoing our glad bed this fall. Glads tend to produce several small bulbs each year. These small bulbs have a tendancy to push the larger bulbs up towards the surface of the soil. The flowers of the glads weigh a lot, and thus they fall over often when in full bloom. |

These are our pretty black eyed susans. We got them last year from Rob's mom and transplanted them. They looked pretty pathetic the first year, but this year, as you can see, they have really taken off. We will have to separate them this coming spring. |

This is one of our most puzzling plants that we have. We still have no idea what this plant is, but it is obviouly a tropical. We live in zone 6, but it is very close to the house, so it doesn't get the full brunt of the winter storms. It is now about 7 feet tall and just beautiful. We removed a shrub that was close to the bottom earlier this year, to allow it to fill out near the bottom. The leaves are a very waxy green with bright yellow spots. It was one of the original shrubs on the grounds when we moved in. |
