Back Yard Mid-Summer Garden
This is a few of our plants from our mid-summer garden in our back yard around our deck.
This is one of the originals.  This yellow daylily is so pretty.  At any given time, it easy to look out and find some type of insect enjoying this flower just about as often as we do.
This is white alyssum.  It is still up in the air whether this is actually just an annual, or if it somehow reseeds itself.  We planted these from seed this year, and as you can see, they have really grown!  Alyssum is such a good filler plant too.
This red bee balm was one of the plants that Rob traded for this spring with someone for through gardenweb.com.  It has really began to take off.  I can't wait to see this one next year.
This pic is of the same plant, just a different angle.  I love this flaming red color!
These are some more of our baby cosmos all grown up.
This is one of our cosmos that was grown from seed this year.  Growing from seed was a whole lot of work!  We grew these inside for quite a long time before we could harden them off to put outside.  I was afraid our neighbors would thing that we were growing pot or something with all the flurescent growing lights :)
This is one of our sedums.  The previous owners of our home really loved sedum.  We have it growing everywhere, so we have to trim it back quite often.  This particular type is Sedum Bronze Carpet.  It turns a bit bronze toward the end of the summer.
This is one of the yummiest of our plants!  This is a chocolate peppermint plant.  It tastes just like a peppermint patty!  It is quite yummy in tea or just to chew on.  It could be invasive if you didn't take care of it.  It probably is best potted, but the soil that we have it in is not very vertile, so we don't have to worry about it taking over any other plants.
