MOOTS FOR 2006 - *NEW* - Updated 18/4/2006

Oh this is just so exciting!!!

January Moot

Talk on magical protection.

February Moot - 1st Feb 2006

Imbolc Celebration: Please bring the following items: a tealight candle, a nice envelope or a pouch, some nice pieces of paper and a pen, optional items such as ribbons, seeds, herbs, stones.....

Imbolc, as the time when new growth and new life begins to show with the first stirrings of Spring, is a good time to make wishes and to plant seeds (whether metaphorical or actual) of the things we want to see come to fruition in the growing of the year to come.

Between now and then, think about a few things you wish for, are working towards, or hope to achieve this year. Keep it realistic and optimistic.

March Moot

Discussion Night.

Topic: Paganism and the Internet - a Good thing or a Bad thing. We are looking for two volunteers - one to present the case for each side and help to kick start the discussion. We are going to think about the various aspects of this issue, and if the discussion gets stilted, we will have topic cards to direct it a bit. But Pagans are not generally known for keeping their opinions to themselves......

April Moot

Moot social and a plea for moot ideas as it's everbody's moot, after all.

NOTE: What a bunch of stars you all are!!! Thanks to all the mooters who have now suggested stuff for the rest of 2006, and thanks in a BIG BIG way to those of you who have volunteered (Pressganged??? Who us???) to lead, facilitate, help out, do stuff, etc.

May Moot

Beltane celebration in the pub garden (unless it's raining) written and led by Julia, one of our newer moot members.

June Moot

What is the worst Pagan book you have ever read, an why was it so bad? Please bring along the offending article (if you have it) so we can all make faces and poke fun at the very worst of Pagan Illiterature.

July Moot

A discussion on the Co-incidences in Nature, facilitated by Mark. Have a think about the symbols, repeating patterns, numbers and other signs in Nature that indicate the Divine as we each percieve it shaping the everything as we know it. Please bring your brains to this moot, as we will most likely all learn something from this discussion.

August Moot

Who is your Role Model? Who is your Pagan Role Model? What do you think about Role Models and the place they have in our consciousness? Discussion night and Lammas Celebration, incorporating Role Model energies somehow.

September Moot

Pagan Swop - have you got anything Pagan that you just don't have a use for any more, that has no value to you and wouldn't fetch anything on Ebay??? Do you want to swop it for something else??? Bring all those odds n ends you no longer want or need, and have a look at what everyone else has brung, see if you can't do a swop for something you never knew you wanted!!! No live dragons or illicit potions - if ya know what we mean!

October Moot

"The origins of sayings" short talk and discussion - with a Pagan twist of course - facilitated by Ali and Julia..

November Moot

Samhain Celebration of some kind, currently lurking in the strange and infinitely purple depths of Ali's brain... Bring an open mind, and a candle just in case....

December Moot

It's decision time once again! Time to decide what we all want for the moots of 2007. Time to reflect on the good, bad and ugly moots of 2006, to have a beer or few and chill out before the party excess of the "everyone's religion seems to be having a few festivals right now" season. And then we start the whole darn thing all over again!
