Dear Diary,

I am just arriving in America.  My English is not so good though.  I am afraid I will have problems with communication.  Hopefully I will be okay.  I have studied English in for six years already.  I just began my junior year in high school.  I am in America looking for my jiejie-my big sister.  Her name is LianXin.  She ran away to America because she got trouble in China.  Now she is hiding in America and my father is depress because he wants her to follow the family tradition.  My father is a great Taijiquan master, and he wants jiejie to be one too.  I am not good at Taijiquan as my sister, so my father doesn't want me for it.  So I am in America now.  I hope jiejie is okay when I find her.

Dear Diary,
I found my jiejie.  And she is okay.  I am living with her at her apartment now.  Daddy even came to visit.  Actually, he came to try and make jiejie go home.  But she said something to him -- something secret about her birthmark -- and he let her stay here.  He said it's safer.  I think my jiejie is in bigger trouble than I thought.  So now I am studying Kung Fu in case I need to help protect my sister.

My days here are very busy.  Mang se le ("Busy to Death").  I get up and go to private school.  I even have a cool uniform.  Then after school I go to a place called a skate park where I learn to do the skateboard.  It's sooo fun.  And convenient!  I can get from one place to another in the city very quickly.  Then, I go to where the Buddhist Nun teaches Shaolin Kung Fu classes and I study with her until she is tired of me.  Then I go home and fall asleep right away.
