HISTORY:

Michelle was born in a small town called Richmond, just outside of Houston, TX.  Michelle's father left before she was old enough to remember him, and her mother re-married a cruel man.  By the time Michelle was six years old, she was doing most of the work taking care of her younger brother.  Then, after a tragic accident that killed the young boy, her father seemed to blame her.

Michelle grew more withdrawn from her family, and found herself turning to her best friend as a both for emotional support and as a role-model.  Ultimately she found herself questioning her sexual orientation, and by the time she was 10, Michelle told her best friend that she believed she was in love with her.  Her friend, frightened by the dread confession, fled from Michelle and went to Michelle's step-father.

That night Michelle lay awake crying, afraid that she had driven her best friend away from her.  It was then that her step-father came to her and told her he would teach her to love a real man.  Then he beat and raped her.  Michelle endured only two more days of this kind of treatment before running away.  Soon, however, she found herself on the streets of Houston as a prostitute and addicted to heroin.

When Michelle was 17, due to an event that she never speaks of, she fled from her pimp, quit heroin cold-turkey, and became an exotic dancer to pay for tutoring so that she could get a GED.

When she got her GED, she became a nanny to pay her way through college, trying to leave her former life completely behind.  But when she was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, she was crushed.

A Celestial Chorus mage (the grandfather of the children that she was a nanny to) used his magick and called forth a miracle to cure Michelle.  Her miracle cure Awakened the girl, but she quickly found that she was unsuited to become a member of the Chorus.

She was a Orphan for a while until the Primus of the Cult of Ecstasy, Marianna of Balador, took her in and trained her.  With the coming of the Avatar Storm, Michelle has lost contact with her mentor, but diligently tries to live up to Marianna's example.

Michelle's paradigm in life is unique:  she believes that all the negative emotions like anger or fear are rooted in the past and the future.  One is either angry about something already come and gone, or fearful of something that has yet to be.  In her eyes, the only true emotion in joy because it is the only emotion that exists in the moment of reality that we exist in.  Therefore, by taking joy to it's extreme one can tap into the very fabric that the universe is made from.  Michelle has many pathways to joy -- including but not limited to dance, music, poetry, lovemaking, and even certain drugs (although she is
very careful with this because of her past history with heroin).  Despite the fact that she is a time mage, she believes it's very important to keep all one's emotions and thoughts firmly grounded in the reality of the moment that we all exist in -- or rather, the now.  Only by truly anchoring one's body and mind into the now can one truly begin to unravel the mysteries of time itself.

Since Marianna's disappearance, Michelle has become a licensed therapist and specializes in Transpersonal Psychology (a branch of psychology that takes the wisdom of Shamanistic and Eastern religious traditions and applies them to therapy).  She has also joined the Children's Crusade (an organization founded my Marianna to help sexually abused children).  And she has also founded the New Haven Homeless Shelter in Necro City
.

Lately Michelle's life has been filled with a string of failed romances.  Her first big romance was with a girl named Felix.  They seemed to have a conneciton that went deeper than anything Michelle had ever felt before. (Twin Souls Merit) but Felix and she grew emotionally apart.  Michelle's second romance was with a girl named Starr.  The young and energetic Starr was attacked by a Vampire only a few months after Michelle's relationship with her began.  Michelle went on a drinking binge when Starr was returned as a Vampire.  Shortly after that, the girl disappeared, leaving Michelle distraught, and leaving MIchelle to inherit the jazz club of which Starr was the caretaker.

Check out the jazz club called The Drake
here.

Thanks to some good friends she recovered from the depression that ensued after Starr's disappearance.  She had been throwing herself into her work for some time, when she felt the bond between herself and Felix break.  At first, she feared that Felix had been killed.  Worse, she discovered that Felix had been Gilguled.  Michelle has been reeling from this discovery.  The connection between she and Felix as always a tangible thing, and now that its gone, Michelle feels as if a part of hre has died.

Michelle still works as a therapst and she continues to donate her time to the homeless shelter.  Recently, however, she's made friends with a girl named Jen.  There's more to Jen than meets the eye, and time will only tell what is next.
Michelle's new girlfriend, Jennifer Dime.  Jennifer works as a mechanic, with a side-business creating small trinkets and mechanical inventions (such as clocks, music boxes, cigarette lighters, etc.) her shop is an eclectic storehouse of strange objects, and is next door to her mechanic garage.  She and Michelle have been together for several months and have finally moved into Chelle's loft apartment together.
