| The Mussetter family has been traced back to Christian Mussetter. He was born about 1748 and died in 1836 in New Market, Frederick County, Maryland. The Mussetter ancestors of Christian have lived in the areas Frederick, Maryland--Berkeley County, West Virginia--Greene County, Ohio--Clinton County, Ohio These are the main areas I have found so far. I haven't been able to find any information of Christian's parents or where he was born. It's been told that he was born in Germany and came to America as a young boy. I haven't found any passenger ship's list with the Mussetter name. The name was probably changed and other possible spellings include--Mosetter, Museater, Mossetter, Museter, and possibly others.
