| The following links have a lot of information on Talipes (Clubfoot) and would be a great place for Collin's family & friends to learn about clubfoot. The best gift you could ever give Collin would be to teach others what you learn about clubfoot. When Collin was born we couldn't even go into a store or restraunt without someone staring, wispering, or pointing out his cast/brace, most likley they do not know what a clubfoot is... I know I didn't until after Collin was born. Now that I've updated this page we don't get the stares any more that I mentioned above, (Except when he was just in the casts again at age 2), but so many people I know still do and let me tell you it hurts many of them. I think the ignorance in this world comes from lack of knowledge. So please spread the word, it is the one of the most common birth defects but theres not enough information out there! And teach your children (even if they are grown...) that what makes us all so special is... that we are all so different. Aslo I would like to point out that just because a child is small or you still think of them as a little baby, they understand what you are saying, so please do not make any negative comments or negative questions while they are present, it is just not right to do that in front of any child, not just mine. Pull us parents aside if you have a comment or question that could hurt a babies feelings or make them feel "different" from others. | Clubfoot support groups that we belong to: These are some of the best people I can say I've ever known! There have been many days that I wouldn't of known what to do or feel if I didn't have these great people to share their wisdom with me and just to vent to sometimes when others just wouldn't understand or didn't get what we were going through. I would like to give a special thanks to all of them.
