Checkpoint Charlie began as a lowly three piece punk band. Ann is currently the only remaining original member. Laura sat in at a practice with Ann and original guitarist Neely, when the Checkpoint's first drummer was off doing something less important.
( think it was shopping...yup, for more boots...) Laura then replaced above said drummer. In late 2002, Laura wanted to make the Checkpoint more original and asked Haley to join the band as the first member of the horn line. Haley then physically and verbally abused Jackie until she agreed to round out the horn section. In February 2003, Cori took over for Neely, and the Checkpoint completed its transformation (we hope). Checkpoint Charlie made their first CD recording with the help of Keith Turner and Frank Kerstetter some time in late 2002. They have only played out at a real venue four times, but that will soon all be changing...
