Please Note:  These stories below happened in 2004.

1. Story from someone who had their car broken into in Lot 1

For me, my car was broken into twice this year (2004), both times on weekends in lot #1.  In early march someone drilled a hole under the lock in the driver's side door, tried to hotwire the car, failed, and stole my radio as a consolation prize.  The lowlife also took about $1 worth of change I had in the ashtray.  The second time was a couple weeks ago.  Again the goal was to hotwire the car, and again I ended up with a damaged steering column and undriveable vehicle.  This time there was nothing in the car worth stealing, so he gave up and left.  Both times an officer came out when I called, took fingerprints, filed a report, and I've heard nothing from them since then regarding any progress in finding the bastard who did it.

I've noticed speed traps (I think they're speed traps, anyways.. I've never asked or been pulled over) in both the mornings and evenings at the intersection of Overlook and Edgehill, where two police cars and several officers pull people over and issue tickets.  As for me, I'd rather they put their talents to use guarding the lots and protecting my property (which I'd really appreciate), instead of annoying drivers during rush hour.  If they're worried about loss of revenue from speeding tickets, they can always issue parking tickets to those cars parked on the wrong side of Overlook during rush hour.  It would take much less time and manpower than the speed trap.  This is not to imply that I approve of speeding.  However, given the choice of police protecting me from drivers going 35mph in a 25mph zone, or protecting my car from being broken into and vandalized, I'd rather have my car safe and sound.

2. This guy had $2315.00 damage to his vehicle in an underground garage.  This guy has done his homework and with good reason!

See link below to see what he had to put up with.
