Botulism

Onset: 12 - 36 hours

Duration: months

Symptoms: fatigue, weakness, double vision, slurred speech, respiratory failure
and sometimes death.

Typical foods: Types A and B :vegetables,
Fruits, meat, fish and poultry products,
Condiments; Type E;fish and fish products.
Honey contains botulism and should not be fed to infants under 1 year old.

Contamination source: Types A,B: soil/dust
Type E: water and sediments
