Families who:
-are new to home schooling and some who are
veterans with 20+ years of experience!
-home school under all categories of the PA HS law,
cyberschoolers, and those just thinking of home
schooling.
-live in the following school districts: Bermudian
Springs, Carlisle, Conewago, Gettysburg, Upper
Adams, West Shore (Dauphin Co.)
-vary in size from one child to six or more with ages
ranging from newborn to 18+ years.
-are from various Evangelical Christian
backgrounds and attend different churches
(specific religious doctrines are not discussed or
argued!)
This year (2008-09 school year) we will be meeting at various locations for our meetings. The meeting times will also vary, depending on the activity. Students of all ages may attend the activites which are taught by parents and/or special guests.
CHEF membership dues are $20/family/year which help cover the cost of some programming and supplies. To join CHEF, please click the email link below. After joining CHEF, members are encouraged to also join the CHEF Yahoo group (subject to moderator approval). Please let moderator know that you are a CHEF member.
CHEF families form life-long friendships as we all press toward the goal of giving our kids the best education we can!
-We believe the Bible is the infallible, holy Word from God the Father.
-We believe God exists as one God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-We believe in the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross, His shed Blood to put man in right standing with God.
-We believe men, women, boys, and girls need to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by acknowledging they are sinners, believing Jesus died on the cross for their sins, accepting Christ as their Savior, and confessing that they believe in Christ.
-We believe in the Holy Spirit's work in the life of the believer as our Comforter, Teacher, Enabler, and Guide.
- We believe God has given every parent the responsibility of "raising up thier children in the fear and admonition of the Lord." This includes making the choice to home school and looking to the Lord for direction and wisdom in this endeavour.
-We strive to provide parents with Christian support, encouragement, and fellowship as they home school their children and provide children with continued and varying educational opportunities.
