| Peas & Q's- On Toasting Some etiquette rules can be skirted and still comply with the niceties, but one that should always be followed deals with toasts. Most of us have been the recipients of congratulatory toasts at one time or another, be it your wedding, job promotion, the publishing of that book you have labored over for years.......or for whatever reason. It might be hard to do, but never, ever, as tempting as it might be, take a sip of your own champagne or wine glass when you are the recipient of a toast. Your job as "toastee", is to sit there, smile modestly, accept the toast and then, raise your own glass and deliever your own toast back to them. Then you can take a sip! So.......now you know what to do when you are being honored by friends, family and colleagues! |
