Do Unto others....Manners and Etiquette

"Manners and ettiquette". Just the mention of those words seem to throw a lot of people into panic and confussion! Too many rules......how can we remember them all.....some are stupid and/or silly!

Yet, "manners and etiquette" is nothing less than using common sense and an extension of "Do Unto Others...." (consideration for others, thoughtfulness and kindness)in everyday situations.

We all remember the usual do's and don'ts taught to us when we were small:
Use your napkin, not your sleeve
Say please, please
Don't wave your fork in the air
Don't chew with your mouth open
Don't talk with your mouth full
Elbows off the table
Don't drink out of your bowl
Don't slurp or gulp your drink
Don't blow into your drink through the straw.......

Bad habits are hard to unlearn and sometimes we don't even realize what we are doing. While it might seem ok when you are eating alone and could possibly be even excused by close family and friends, these bad habits can be annoying, embarrasing and even rude when done in public.

We will cover these and other "rules" and welcome your questions and comments.....
And I promise that I will not pontificate!
