Along the way

I found a friend

A bard to love until the end

She gave me hope

And set me free

She gave me back my sanity

For many years

I was so wrong

I thought I was so very strong

But after all

That I'd been through

I had to start my life anew

This bard I met

Had inner strength

To save me she went to any length

Through the dark

She stood by my side

From that darkness she would never hide

Her courage strong

She helped me see

That my love for her is all I need.

So now I know

That through it all

Our friendship and love will conquer all.
