About me

About Cheeyathebard

Twenty seven years ago, a beautiful Irish lady gave birth to a screaming baby daughter… about two weeks late. Well, the screaming baby was me… Cheeyathebard… and I’ve been running two bloody weeks late my whole life!

I was born and raised in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, where I still live with my family. My real name is Paula (which I’ve always hated) and hey, what can I say… I’m just a tiny bit obsessed with the Warrior Princess… or should I say, her beautiful, blonde friend, Gabrielle.

I remember the first time I saw Xena. (The show, not the real person <g>) I was idly switching through channel after channel of rubbish when I caught a glimpse of leather and armour. Well, even though I wasn’t fully aware of the fact that Gabrielle was around, I saw the beautiful Xena and went… OH MY GOD! And that was it. I was hooked. I tuned in religiously every Saturday evening at 5.10pm GMT to RTE 1 to take in the truly remarkable spectacle that was Lucy Lawless and you know, along the way, I started to realise that the show, in fact, had more than just eye candy and cool fight scenes. I began to realise why I was slowly becoming a die-hard fan… Xena: Warrior Princess had truly touching story lines and the actors were amazingly talented. Then, I realised (it was a time for revelations) that I had missed the first two seasons! "How?! How?!" I asked myself and to this day, I can’t understand how I actually went so long without watching the greatest show ever brought to television.

That was many years ago. By now, I’ve seen all the episodes, I own all the boxsets and videos available, along with all of the soundtracks and I LOVE my collection. Then, about three years ago, I decided to try my hand at this thing that is known as fan fiction. I wanted to be a bard. So I did. And on this site, I have (at last count,) 91 of my fics, including poetry, general, alternative and uber. I’ve completed a series called ‘A Life Worth Living’ and I’m currently working on several uber stories.

Just a couple of extra things about the weirdo that is me…

I’m mad about Renee O’Connor and those who do not love her feel the wrath of moi. To quote one of my favourite fan fiction writers, CN Winters, ‘Did I mention that I love Gabrielle?'

My handle comes from the end of Xena's warcry... as in alalalalalalalalala! Cheeeeeeeeeeya!... and the fact that I love to write fanfic

My favourite Xena eps are as follows : A Day in the Life, The Bitter Suite, Lyre, Lyre and of course, The Norse Trilogy. I also thought the finale was wonderful!

Well, that’s about it! Any further questions? Well, go on and send them to me at [email protected]

Seeya,

Cheeyathebard
