| Classes of 2005, 2006, and 2007 |
| The Classes of 2005, 2006, and 2007 have three different high school diploma endorsements available: the General Plan (22 credits), the Recommended Plan (24 credits), and the Distinguished Achievement Plan (24 credits). Students completing the Recommended or Distinguished Achievement plans meet the requirements for the Texas Scholars program and eligibility to apply for the Texas Grant.* General English - 4 credits Math - 3 credits Science - 3 credits Social Studies - 2.5 credits (must include World History or Geography, U.S. History, and Government) Economics - .5 credit Health - .5 credit Physical Education - 1.5 credits Speech - .5 credit Technology Applications (Computer) - 1 credit Electives - 5.5 electives TOTAL - 22 credits Recommended English - 4 credits Math - 3 credits must include Algebra I, II, and Geometry or higher Science - 3 credits chosen from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or IPC Social Studies - 3.5 credits must include 1 credit of each:World History, World Geography, U.S. History,and .5 credit of Government Economics - .5 credit Health - .5 credit Physical Education - 1.5 credits Communication Applications (Speech) - .5 credit Foreign Language - 2 credits must be taken in the same language Fine Arts - 1 credit Technology Applications (computer) - 1 credit Electives - 3.5 credits TOTAL - 24 credits Distinguished Achievement The Distinguished Achievement program is the same as the Recommended Program, except for the following: Foreign Language - 3 credits in the same language Electives - 2.5 credits (same options) In addition, students must complete at least four of the following advanced measure: Completion of an Advanced Placement exam with a score of 3 or higher College coursework for credit, with a grade of B or higher A professional portfolio (independent study) as judged by a panel of experts in the field * Grants DO NOT have to be repaid! |
