Ahh. Finally. The sequel to Camp Blood. I couldn't wait! Okay, okay...so there's a lot of sarcasm here. To be honest, I never saw the original. However, after witnessing all the flashbacks in part 2, I feel as if I know the first by heart.
Camp Blood 2 follows the female lead of the original. Seems she's been arrested for murderous events of the first film. (sample dialogue: "It was a clown, I tell you! A clown!"). In typical predictable fashion, the killer is still on the loose and there's been a case of mistaken identity. However, an independent(?) film crew decides to make a movie about these events and wish to use the girl as a technical advisor. Believable. Of course, being an independent B-film fantasy world, the county agrees and off she goes (I love the realism).
Heres the kicker: Believe it or not, murders begin on the film set (what a surprise!) and guess who's blamed? You got it - the felonious, (wrongfully) convicted killer/technical advisor. This leads to a predictable conclusion that includes some so-so gore effects.
The Bottom Line: This shot on video mess has a lot of changing background noise, cheap sets and bad acting. It is, however, available at Hollywood Video. It has my "crap movie of the week available at a chain rental store" recommendation.
