I may forgive this if it was a first time feature for the director. It wasn't (he had also made Pecking Order?). I may have a soft-spot if it were an ultra-low budget flick made by one man. Nope. The director (Richard Cecere) had a crew. I may even find pity if I knew it was a rushed job. Again, not the case. It took 2(!) years to write.
Even as an indie movie Again and Again fails miserably. The sound is completely inept, the locations are drab (they use only TWO the whole movie!), the acting is terrible and the effects appear to be created on a Commodore 64. There is no "plot" - something or another about a stolen heart - and no conclusion. Talk about boring, repetitious stuff! The characters are never properly developed, as each segment is through another's eyes (hence - showing their version of each character). This WAS an original concept - when He Said She Said came out...more than 10 years ago.
It's not that I don't get the "joke" - I do. But this mess is truly awful - and laughable.
One character (played by the director) speaks only in movie quotes. Clever, I suppose, for 5 minutes. However, when the character is quoting everyday dialogue - such as "hello" and "how are you" - you could care less about which movie it's from. Heck, you'll never be able to guess. It's vague. A pathetic attempt to make an unclever "interactive" movie. I mean, really, who cares that he speaks in quotes? How does it move the story forward? It does, however, provide the only witty dialogue - which, sadly, is lifted from other BETTER films.
If you enjoy a good laugh AT something, as opposed to WITH - check out this pathetic attempt at a comedy. Like an amateur home video run amuck. Avoid at all costs. If it's a choice between this and your cousin Timmy's shot on video slasher film, watch the latter.
