Candyman: Day of the Dead

I hope the Candymans killer bees sting the folks responsible for this debacle. Sure, part 2 wasnt great, but at least it had atmosphere. Director Turi Meyer (who made the stylish Sleepstalker) tries hard, but an extremely low budget hampers everything. Tony Todd reprises his role as Daniel Robitaille, an undead slave who wields a bloody hook. He's good, but unfortunately there's not much for him to do. Ex Baywatch babe Donna DErrico (as the great granddaughter(!) of Robitaille - I see the resemblance)chain-smokes and whines throughout the picture, proving she has a worse screen presence than Pamela Anderson.

The Bottom Line: A sorry, cheap sequel to a classic original. Clive Barkers gothic horror tale is ruined in a semblance of scary set pieces and writing. Plus, wheres the great musical score of the original? Ugh.
