We went to Siena on a day trip from Florence and guess what the weather was like? Yep that's right. . .raining. Shocking. Regardless we went out to discover this beautiful town hidden in the heart of Tuscany and were not disappointed. This town is truly a treasure and worth seeing. Centered around a beautiful piazza pictured above, the streets wrap around this heart of the town creating an intricate and never boring star pattern filled with elegant and tempting stores. I could have spent hours strolling down these streets lined with shops selling local specialties such as fresh homemade pasta, Italian cakes, pannetoni, mmm. . .amazing. It was a short visit but one which will remain close to our heart. Siena's charm is impossible to forget.
The picture above left shows just one example of the beautiful side streets that wind throughout all of Siena. You just want to explore each one and could get happily lost in the labyrinth. Despite the beauty of the town, the weather left something to be desired. . .therefore we had no choice but to stop at a little cafe on the piazza, right? Right. (Above right)
