As many of you know Beth came to stay with us in Marseille for about a month. We used the time to show her some of our favorite places of the region. Les Calanques ranks high on that list. It is such a beautiful place to visit and a nice change from the bustling cosmopolitan city of Marseille. Everytime we go we explore new paths and discover more of its beauty. It is simply an amazing place.

The picture above is of a tiny port located in Les Calanques called Sormiou and on the right is a pictures of the rocky cliffs and bluffs that jut out into the Med.
Les Calanques as a totality sprawl over miles and above Jess and Beth are reading the map situated on a lookout point attempting to decide which pathway to take. To the left Jeremy is trying to decide if the water is too cold for swimming.
In France it is legal to go topless at any beach but complete nudity is still reserved for special nudist beaches. You are only allowed to step on the beach if you are completely naked to prevent gawkers but when we stumbled upon a nudist beach in the middle of Les Calanques we couldn't resist a few pictures by the sign (does that make sus immature?)--we have other pictures but they are to explicit for your virgin American eyes.

Les Calanques is one of the most beautiful places on the earth and we are really going to miss living so near. We hope to be back to discover even more of what it has to offer. Maybe next time we'll come prepared for the nudist beach. . .hmm. . .I guess you're kind of always ready for a nudist beach.
