| Condorcet is a nice little get-away for us from the big city. It's a small town in the pre-Alps (Drome region) where Jess' cousin Jean-Pierre lives with his wife Corrine and their kids. The scenery is completely different from Provence---dramatic mountains, rivers and vineyards everywhere. It's where the "Cotes du Rhone" wines are made and we believe we counted more wineries than houses. On our first visit we were invited to a "repas de chasse" (hunter's feast) by Jess' family. It was a real adventure complete with a 5 course meal of animals caught in the surrounding area---wild boar and mountain goat to name a few. It was all delicious, we had a great time and the sangria, flowing wine and champagne helped us remember the outing for days after. (More to come on our adventures in Condorcet in a journal entry.) |
