| Phoenix Phoenixes are swan sized birds with red and gold plumage. When a phoenix is ready to die (about the age of ten) they will burst into flames, and then are immediately reborn from their ashes. Legend suggests that there may only be one phoenix alive in the world at one time. This is untrue. There may more than one phoenix alive at one time, although typically not more than two in each country. Female phoenixes are a rare site, because they tend to stay in their nests high in the trees eating whatever insects fly by. Males however are more social and will somtimes befriend humans, but only if they are, kind, wise, hardworking and brave. |
