The association of Mythical Beasts was founded by Gwendolyn and Athena Strange in 1997. What started out as a small organization run by two sisters has flourished in the past ten years. Now what was a small organization that no one would join has turned into one that has two large office building/research centers with sanctuaries for sick and injured animals; one in England and one in New England. The A.M.B as many researchers scattered across the globe trying to discover new species and learn more about the ones on record by interviewing people who have witnessed mythical beasts in action. Also trying to find the beasts themselves and make sketches and notes about them. In addition to trying to seek knowledge the A.M.B reseachers try to save endangered species such as giants, mer-people and basilisks. The A.M.B is currently in possesion of two mythical beasts, a earth dragon whose mother abandoned him at birth (in New England) and a unicorn who was attacked by a manticore (in England), along with a few brownies who help around the two buildings. The A.M.B is currently working on setting up two habitats for creatures who have been driven out of thier homes; one forests and fields and the other cave and mountains. The A.M.B started this web site to educate people about creatures they don't neccasarily see, but are none the less still there. |
