George grew up in Liverpool, England with his mother and father: Louise and Harold, and his brother and sister: Peter and Louise. Aside from playing in his own rockabilly band with his brother, George also worked part time as an electrician's assistant while attending school. He rode the bus everyday, and became friends with a fellow student who was in a different rock'n'roll band with another Liverpool lad, John Lennon. His friend, Paul McCartney, talked George into auditioning for John to become part of "Johnny and the Moondogs", which would later become The Beatles. Always labeled "The Quiet Beatle", George was anything but. In 1966, after their famous concert at Shea Stadium in New York, it was his decision that The Beatles should stop touring. He was also the one who was the greater influence on The Beatle's style of music as they transitioned from pop songs such as Love Me Do and She Loves You to the more indepth, psychadelic songs like Within and Without You and Only a Northern Song. It was his idea that The Beatles should travel to India to visit the Maharishi Yogi for meditation and more of the Eastern influence. In 1969, when much tension was leading up to the breakup of the Beatles, George had the idea to invite other musicians into the studios to keep the peace among the other three Beatles. After the Break up, in 1970, he was the first to release a new hit. George might not have been constantly in the limelight, but he sure spoke volumes by his actions.

In 1964, during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night", George met London teen model, Patti Boyd. Two years later, they were married. Their marriage lasted until 1974 when she left him to become Eric Clapton's wife. George was supportive of her decision and even admitted that they were falling apart anyway. He and Eric were best friends, and even considered themselves "Husbands-in-law". George was Best Man at Eric and Patti's wedding, and in fact, Paul and Ringo attended and during the reception, the three of them began to play some of their old hits for everyone. In 1976, he met Olivia Aries, a Mexican-American woman whom he married in 1977. A year later, his son Dhani was born.
Aside from his music career, George has also developed "Dark Horse Productions" where he's produced many movies and his own albums. He has worked with the crew of Monty Python and produced the movie, "The Life of Brian" in which he received a small bit-part as a Thank You. As a firm believer in comedy and satire, he also helped make and produce the Beatles spoof, The Rutles which was a well done parody of the entire Beatles career.
When not working on an album or a movie, George usually found himself gardening at his estate in London. He loved gardening and found it relaxing. For a hobby of a more "faster speed" (excuse the pun) he also enjoyed NASCAR racing and would many times race just for fun.
In 1988, he was diagnosed with throat cancer, but it was taken care of and became dormant. In 1999, a mentally deranged person broke into his home and attacked both George and Olivia. While George battled the man, and suffering 6 stab wounds and many other injuries, Olivia repeatedly beat the intruder with a lamp finally knocking him out. The attacker simply stated that as a "Christian", he was doing the right thing because of George's Hindu beliefs and how John Lennon had stated back in 1965 that "The Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ". About a year and a half later, in mid 2001, George Harrison found out he had a brain tumor. Making several trips to specialists and experts in Switzerland and The United States, they were able to take care of the cancer and keep it under control. But, it was spreading too fast and George knew his time was limited. He issued a statement to his fans that he was feeling fine and that he was sorry for any worry the press had caused. But, on November 30, 2001, George Harrison died in a friend's home in Los Angelas with his family and close friends present.
