Recepie for fun and mayhem:
25 Internet friends from around the world brought together in one spot.
Optional: You may add a night of hard partying at the liquer cabin if you so desire. The recepie still works without alcohol.
Enjoy!!!
On June 12, 2002 I started out on my journey to meet up with 25 Trixie Belden fans that I had communicated with for so long at Jixemitri and Zaps along with the Jixemitri Chatroom. I've emailed some of these people on a regular basis since I first stepped foot onto the message board at Zap's. I had no idea what kind of following Trixie Belden had.
These people are strange in the chatroom. It was no different at Trixie Camp.
Here are some photos of the fun times we had at the Buffalo River Cabins in St. Joe, Arkansas at the Trixie Belden 2002 Convention (a.k.a. Trixie Camp). I tried to get pictures of everybody there. If I've missed anyone, I'm terribly sorry. Didn't mean to...
Thursday around 6:30pm Susan, Kathy, and I arrived at the cabins.
Friday morning we ate at Ferguson's Restaurant. After that, we toured through the Hurricane River Caves, ate a picnic lunch at Tyler Bend Access Point, and relaxed at a park, and then ate dinner at Lum's Mountain where we enjoyed a night of Hillbilly entertainment. That night, Misty declared that the liquer bottles were going to open up. (Come Hell or high water?) The party lasted until about 1:00 when we paid Mark a little midnight visit... :)
Saturday morning we ate at Ferguson's Restaurant once again, toured through the 1890's Mountain Village, toured through the Bull Shoal's Caverns, ate a picnic lunch at Bull Shoal's Lake and went up to The Top O' The Ozarks to view the Ozark Mountains from 20 stories up off the ground. Then we ate at Gaston's Restaurant. Later that night, we all joined around the "campfire" and sang songs and roasted marshmallows. We even helped Mark solve his mystery...which has still yet to be solved...hehehehe
Sunday morning was our morning to relax before heading back home. Some went on horseback rides (Kathyr got to ride Dan!!!) while others just relaxed back at the cabins. I joined my cabin inmates for breakfast at Ferguson's one last time to laugh and chat over our newest memories.
Saying good-bye was hard to do, but with a 12 hour drive ahead of us, it needed to be done. After waiting so long to meet everyone, I really didn't want it to be over with. But, all good things come to an end. *sigh*
So, there you go. I can't wait until next year to go to the next Trixie Belden Convention...where ever that may be...
