| BLUE ALL RISE (Special asian EP) EMI GROUP The preliminary testimony has been presented for the court's scrutiny. The extremely beguiling "All Rise" has got everyone sweating beads of delirious ecstasy. Follow up single "Too Close" shows promise of becoming equally engaging. Packaging three versions of "All Rise" with two of "Too Close," this Special Asian EP is but a preview of the pleasures that Blue promises to deliver. Yes, the unmistakable charm and tangible talent evidenced by the guys' winning form on their music videos, along with the songs' catchy hooks, memorable lyrics, provide sufficient cause to believe that the members of Blue will be certified heartbreakers and guilty of invading pubescent fantasies in the very near future. | BUGGIN' BUGGIN' BLUE! EXCLUSIVE Chart stars reveal a hidden past Take a close look at these clips from Dane Bowers' first solo single, Buggin', from the spring of 2000. Recognise any of the faces? It's pop wannabes Simon Blue and Su-Elise Mis-Teeq making their screen debuts. "We had to dance together in the video," said Simon. "I'm featured quite heavily, although they show Su-Elise's chest bouncing up and down more than anything! "She's a nice girl, all of Mis-Teeq are! I'm just so glad they've done well this year. Britain needed a good girl band and they're doing it, through R'n'B as well." |
| SMARTIES SMART ZONE When you're tucking into your turkey this Christmas, spare a thought for those poor old Blue boys. Not! Instead of enjoying the delights of England this festive season, the lads are taking the smart option and ketting off to foreign shores. "Me and Dunk are taking our mums away," grins Antony. "It's going to be great, two weeks in the sun, doing nothing!" "We're thinking of the Caribbean," adds Duncan. "Lee and Simon are going away, too, although we're not sure where. | BLUE One new British band set for massive success this year is Blue. This extremely talented group is made up of four London-based lads - Duncan, Antony, Simon and Lee - who hooked up lsat summer, their name reflecting their chilled out attitude. Blue's awesome debut single, All Rise, is a funky, infectious slice of R'n'B that shows off the [sic] their mature, soulful vocals. It was recorded with writer/producer team Stargate - who've worked with Hear'Say and Sisqo. Look out for more singles and a debut album later this year. Blue is definitely the colour! |

| TOO CLOSE BLUE (EMI) If Five think a1 are their biggest pop enemies, they'd better get ready for Blue! The "pop with a soul, motown and rock edge" foursome not only stirred up many a lusty female heart, their new single "Too Close" also knocked Five's "Let's Dance" off the UK No 1 spot! Altho' Blue readily admit they're a boyband ("with quality!"), this good-lookin', talented bunch are not just another pretty boy set. "Too Close" is a funkay, sexy, disco-ish track that's a lot smoother than what you'd get in the boyband market right now. "I like when you shake it like that, ah ah ah hah..." ooh-er! The radio edit is great, but you really gotta spin the Blacksmith R&B Club Rub versh - Antony, Duncan, Simon and Lee mostly rap to a DJ's mixing. Dead cool! See p22. |

| Given �em half a chance and those BLUE boys will natter till the cows come home, but DUNCAN has revealed exclusively to TOTP that there is one thing that will shut him up � a dummy! �I had a dummy until I was about seven,� he let slip. �It was a comfort thing and I had to have it because otherwise I couldn�t get to sleep at night. My mum had to have a dummy until she was nine, so maybe it�s hereditary. Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was an only child.� Ah well, we don�t think you�re a sucker, Duncan! |
| BLUE start the New Year by jetting off to Sweden, France and Asia, where they�ll be busy doing promo for the whole of January. But don�t fret as the boys will be back in Blighty in February. |
