BACOLOD CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL
Bacolod city is the capital of the province of Negros Occidental. It is the most populous city in the Western Visayas Region ang 17th in the whole country. It's name was derived from the Old Illongo word "bakolod" also known as hill, mound, rise, hillock, down, any small eminence or elevation. This is the city where I was born and been raised until I was 4 years old. This city was known for the popular MASSKARA FESTIVAL held every October 1-20. This festival was originally designed to show the hardships of the people of Negros. It is also a chance to drink and be merry for 20 days, on the 19th of October, the biggest party in Bacolod is scheduled to take place.
