Notice:

  1. No make-up week. If you missed any lab, you could go to my other section but must make up within the week you missed. Or go to Chiung-Yuan Lin's sections at 2:10-5:00 on Mon. or Tue.
  2. Please read first three pages of the manual carefully, such as: (Part I: C, E, F, G, I), (Part II: B), and (Part III: A, B). I will grade your notebook based on them mainly.
  3. Staring from Lab 2, you will receive zero points if you cannot turn in your lab notebook when time is up. It means you have to study your lab manual very hard every week.
  4. You must check http://www.geocities.com/chcyang for my personal supplemental notes prior to every coming experiment. Due to the difficulty of some experiments, I may skip some complicated procedures.
  5. You don't have to make a conclusion because all questions you answered will cover it. Also, I will add some similar questions to see how you apply all skills and theories you have learned in class. Therefore, answering all assigned or alternative questions will play an important role of your grade.
Grading Policy: (See "III. Physics 2LA Laboratories Procedures" in your lab manual on Page 3.)
  1. Each lab is normally graded out of a total of 10 points. There's no extra credit.
  2. Be careful about "Units" and "Significant Figures". This kind of mistake is 0.5 points, every time, consecutively! A grading reference copied from TA notes will be given here.
  3. 2-4 points will come from answering the questions quantitatively and in percentage. Each assigned question stands 1 point in your weekly grade.
  4. And 1 other point will come from your physical performance in the Lab. Therefore, I may ask some simple questions at random or observe your attitude quietly. Basically, I appreciate people's initiative to reach "above-perfection" in the limited time window.
Feedback:

Every week, I will inquire your suggestions and bring all your comments to my TA consultant, Kristine Preston [email protected] in Graduate Division. I take this very seriously.
