| The most accurate way to test your gokart engine is to use a dynamometer.� I have an inertia dyno capable of testing kart engines up to 50 hp. At present the dyno uses the standard kart engine mounting system. | �� The inertia dyno works by measuring� the� acceleration of a known mass� ( a 100kg disc) and� Torque = angular acceleration x inertia. From the torque� it is easy to� calculate horsepower, and this is presented in graphical form. |

| � Is the dyno accurate? A common question. In reality, I don't believe there are 2 dynos in the world that will give the same readings on the same motor. It is much more important that the dyno be repeatable, that is, if you change nothing on the motor, will the two runs give the same results. My dyno is corrected for temperature, pressure and humidity, so runs done on different days will be corrected to a standard day and can then be directly compared. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
