Lesson 7
Interstate 4 One Another
“Worshipping Together”
The Point of the Lesson:
Each child will understand the importance of worshipping God in our every day lives. We can worship God by giving to others and helping those in need.
The Power of God’s Word:
You have six days to do your work, but the seventh day of each week is holy because it belongs to Me. Leviticus 23:3a CEV
The Prayer of Each Child:
Lord, I pray that You will help me to be thankful for all the things You have done for me. Please help me show my thankfulness to You by worshipping every day in what I say and what I do. I pray I can worship You by giving to others and helping those in need. This week, I will write down two ways I can worship You by giving to others.
Prepare: (Before service)
A picture of the Grand Canyon (can get off of the internet)
2 blindfolds
4 buckets
4 of each: glasses, gloves, coats, pants, and hats
Preview: (5 minutes)
Welcome from MC:
Hey guys, have you ever been to the Grand Canyon? It’s one of the coolest places on earth! I was amazed when we saw the huge, beautiful canyon. Here’s a picture of the Grand Canyon. How many of you guys have ever seen the Grand Canyon? What did you think? Isn’t it awesome?!
Object Lesson:
You know, the Grand Canyon is pretty amazing to see. What was more amazing was taking a tour of the Grand Canyon and learning all about it. The more you learn about the Grand Canyon, the more amazing it is! Do you know...that is kind of the same way it is with God! The more we get to know God by praying, reading the Bible, and going to church, the more we are amazed about who He is! We can show our love for God by worshipping Him every day in our lives. We can also set aside one day a week to go to church to learn more about Him, just like you all are doing right now.
Kid Connect Question:
Would you rather camp out in the desert in a tent or stay in an RV by the beach?
Play: (5 minutes)
Blindfolded!
Pick one child from each team and blindfold them. Have a bucket filled with a pair of glasses, gloves, pants, a hat, and a coat set up next to each blindfolded child. After they have been blindfolded, the child has one minute to put on the glasses, gloves, pants, hat, and coat correctly. When the time is up, the child that has the most attire put on correctly, wins points for the team.
Transition for MC:
These students who were blindfolded couldn’t see what attire they were putting on. There is a story in the Bible where a blind man begged for Jesus to heal him so he could see – and He did! After Jesus healed him, the blind man immediately began to worship Jesus! Today, we’re going to learn about the importance of worship and the different ways we can worship God in our lives.

Lesson in a Word: Worship
What Should I See?
As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was begging by the side of the road. When the blind man heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. Some men told him that Jesus was passing by. The blind man called out, “Jesus, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and asked for the man to be brought to Him. When the blind man came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see”, he replied. Jesus said to the blind man, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you”. Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised and worshipped God. (Source: Luke 18:35-43 NIV)
Memory Verse:
You have six days to do your work, but the seventh day of each week is holy because it belongs to Me. Leviticus 23:3a CEV
What’s The Key?
Jesus showed His generosity to the blind man by healing him. The man showed his thankfulness to Jesus by immediately praising and worshipping Him. We need to be thankful for all the things Jesus does for us.
What’s That To Me?
After the healed man began to worship Jesus, others saw what he was doing. His worship was contagious to the entire crowd around him. We need to be thankful to Jesus by praising Him. And, when we do, our worship will be contagious and others will follow as well.
How Should I Be?
It is so important to thank God for all that He has done for us. We do this by worshipping Him. We can worship God by giving to others. Some ways we can do this is by helping in our community, tithing to our church (tithing means giving 10% of what we earn – like our allowance – back to God), and giving to those who are in need. If we do these acts of worship, people will see God’s generosity through us. Through our act of giving, we are actually worshipping God!
Practice Point:
This week give to others and they will say,
You’re worshipping God and that’s the way.
TEAM TIMEOUT
This time is spent together in small groups using the student handouts.
Things To Do Here:
Question 1: How can you worship God?
Question 2: What can you do to give to others and help those in need?
Question 3: By worshipping God with your actions, who can you be an example to this week?
Things To Do At Home:
Question 1: Write down two ways you can worship God.
Question 2: Do you know of anyone else in the Bible who showed their love for God by worshipping Him? Who was it?
Question 3: Think about the word “tithe”. Remember, it means giving 10% of our money back to God. Would you consider tithing back to God when you go to church?

Each team participates in their group trying to recite the
week’s verse with the hand motions. You
