| CHANGING YOUR MIRC SERVER This is for the normal Server: 1.� Start your Mirc. 2. When you see the Mirc OPTIONS window do not hit the connect yet.� Instead, click on the ADD button. 3.� In the Description type 30+chat 4.� In the SERVER type this exactly in all small letters........... irc.chatworlds.net The port should be 6667.� Now Click the ADD button..� Now you should be back at the options screen.�Next click the Connect to IRC Server button. |
| To DOWNLOAD mIRC 1.� Go to http://www.mirc.net and start the download.� Follow the instructions for downloading and installing.� 2.� When you start mIRC up...to get to the place where I've created the room, do the following. 3.� You will come to a screen called the MIRC Options screen.� Make sure the word CONNECT is highlighted in the left column.� 4.� The IRC SERVERS LINE should read ALL. Click on the ADD button and in the description box, type in a description of the room such as 30+ chat or whatever you like.� In the IRC SERVER box, type in irc.betterchat.net.� In the PORT it should read 6667.� Leave the rest blank and click on ADD. 5.� Now back at the Connection screen the IRC SERVERS line should read all and the chatroom description should be in the next line.� Fill in the bottom part...of that window now...using your chat nick for your FULL NAME or a fake name, something for an email addy (it does NOT have to be your real one and I reccommend its not..make one up for this spot).� Then Type in your nickname.� The alternative can be left blank or a 2nd nick can be entered here. 6. Now do this.. in the left column do this.� Click the + sign beside the word IRC and highlight the word PERFORM.� at the top of the big white box is a line that says something like this PERFORM THESE ON CONNECT ...check that box.� then in the white box.. type this line exactly.. starting with the forward slash.. and inserting YOUR NICKNAME'S PASSWORD where I type� yourpassword.� so type this line in there..��� /ns identify yourpassword Now highlight CONNECT in the left column again.� Your ready to hit the CONNECT TO SERVER Button! 7. A screen called channels folder may popup..� at the bottom of this there should be a box that says POPUP ON CONNECT.. uncheck it.. you don't need that box to popup... then close that screen.� You should now be at the status page. If You haven't all ready registered you nick follow the instructions on the left column of this page and do it now.� 8.� Now to find the Room.� Under FILES TOOLS DCC is a 2nd row of buttons.� Click the 4th button (looks like a globe maybe) called LIST CHANNELS.� When the screen pops up DO THIS next....� There's a MIN # and a MAX #.. Erase the 3 in Min and enter 0.. then at the bottom of that screen is a line stating.. Hide alphanumeric channels.. UNCHECK THAT BOX.. and now Click on GET LIST. Now a box appears showing all the chatrooms.... and in the second column is the number of users currently in that room and the 3rd column is the Topic one of the Ops set for the room.� Double click on the room you wish to join! Now next time you connect your mirc.. it will be easier.. you won't have to do ALL of this again.. You will just do this.... 1. Start Mirc 2. On the Options Screen - check to be sure your Nickname is�CORRECT and then hit CONNECT. 3.� Open the LIST CHANNELS.. then look for the room you want to join. |
