| The Aranda - Cook Neighbourhood Watch is researching and recording the history of Cook, Aranda and Macquarie and residents, businesses and members of the local community are encouraged to participate. The area to be covered will be bounded by Belconnen Way in the north, Caswell Drive in the east, William Hovell in the south to Coulter drive in the west. The historical focus will include Aboriginal occupation, European settlement and post 1966 urban development. The two objectives of the project are to: * create a permanent website to invite imput and allow progressive collection of information relevant to the history of the area and * mount a temporary display on the history of the area, for 10 day exhibit at the Jamison Centre in late 2004. |
