PRESDIENT'S TRIP TO ASIA PACIFIC COORPERATION SUMMIT AND ASIA
President Cherrie will travel on a four nation tour of Asia from the 16th - 21st of November 2006. During his visit there, the President will visit Tokyo, Japan, on the 16th, Hanoi, Vietnam for the 2006 APEC Summit from the 17th - 19th of November. On the 19th - 20th, the President will travel on Singapore and from the 20th - 21st, to Canberra, Australia.
President Cherrie believes in a strong Asia Pacific Region. The Federation has been on permanent status as a moderator and observer of the APEC Summit since 2002.
President Cherrie looks forward to meeting leaders of Asia during his six day visit.
President Cherrie last visited Japan and Singapore in June of 2005. This will be his first visit to Australia and Vietnam.
President Cherrie will be accompanied by Mrs. Cherrie, the National Security Adviser and Secretary of State James Morrison.
