PRESIDENT CHERRIE WELCOMES PRESIDENT PUTIN AND MRS. PUTINA OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO THE CHATEAU AHEAD OF G8 SUMMIT
President and Mrs. Cherrie welcomed President Putin and his wife, Mrs. Lyudmila Putina to the Chateau for an official visit ahead of saturday's G8 summit in Rockeraders.
The Preisdent and President Putin discussed for an hour in the Blue Office on issues such as North Korea, Energy, Iran as well as the futuer of Russia and the World.
President Cherrie stressed that he would like to see Russia take a stronger stand on Iran as well as the caucuses regions, and he also stressed to President Putin to ensure democracy grows in morden Russia.
The two leaders also met for lunch and held a Press Conference.
President Putin last called at the Chateau in 2003, and the two leaders last met in person at the APEC summit in South Korea last November.
