STATEMENT ON RESTORATION OF THE CHATEAU
As part of the ongoing process by the Chateau Historical Association and the office of the Preservation of National Monuments of the Federation, the desision had been made in April 2006 to do a partial restoration and redecoration of the State Floor and Residence of the Chateau.
The Chateau will be undergoing a restoration of the State Floor throughout the month of July 2006. Room that will be restored to their former glory include the Center Room, the Music Room, the Grand Room, the Picture Gallery and the Grand Stairs.
In the Residence, the Robert Kennedy Room and a few private rooms will be redecorated.
The last time a partial restoration of the Chateau took place was in 2003 when the Blue Room and Garden Room was redecorated. in September 2005, the Chandeliers of the State Dining Room and Blue Room were restored.
As Such, all tours, public and arranged will be suspended throughout the month of July and until further notice, for safety and security reasons.
