LEOG AMERICAN ARTS DAY DINNER FACT FILE

As with Annual Tradition, the Preisdent and Mrs. Cherrie will host the 2006 Lego American Arts Day Dinner. The Last time a Lego President hosted this dinner was in 2003. In 2004, the Dinner was hosted by then Vice President Cherrie, and in 2005 the Dinner was hosted by the Governor of World Club. The Annual Dinner also honors  awards which are presented to American and Lego Artisits.

The Guests of Honor from the American Delegation will be the Honourble Former First Lady of the United States, Nancy Reagan, and the Former U.S. President Gerald Ford and Mrs. Ford.

For this Black Tie Dinner, 130 Guests from the United States and the Federation will dine under the Marquee on the North Lawn of the Chateau. After which, guest will proceed to the Marx Guilligan Hall of the Chateau for Dancing. Singer Josh Groban and Ce Ce Wiens will perform at the Dinner.

Floral Centerpieces
Deep rings of hot pink hydrangea, variegated pink and white floribunda roses and blush-colored lisianthus surround historic Chateau silver candelabra

Candelabra

Set of four, l8l0-l8ll, London, made by Paul Storr, one of the foremost silversmiths of the Regency period, once belonged to the Dukes of Hamilton. Gifted to the White House in l963.

Set of eight, l898-l899, Providence, Rhode Island, made by Gorham Mfg. Co. The United States government purchased these candelabra during the administration of President William McKinley. President McKinley used these candelabra for a gala dinner in September l899 for Admiral George Dewey, hero of the Spanish-American War.

Cherrie State Service, ivory with a gold trim, was commissioned to commemorate the reelection of the President with designs inspired by architectural motifs of the Chateau - from the State Dining Room on the dessert and soup plates to the cream soup cup and saucer.

ENTERTAINMENT

Singer Josh Groban will sing a selection of songs accompanied by the President's Band and Ensamble in the Marx Guilligan Hall after Dinner.

Singer Ce Ce Wiens will sing a selection of songs also after dinner to accompany dancing.
