| The South Lawn The Chateau 7.55 AM WST THE FIRST LADY: Good morning, and we're just back from Asia. Thanks for all being here so early this moring, but we are here for a very special tradition, and this heralds the start of the Christmas Season. I want to thank Linda and Peter Rotherdam for donating this very, very beautiful Freiser Fir, all the way from their farm in Model Team, which will be placed in the State Dining Room. I want to say how appreciative we are of having people from around the nation donate decorations for Christmas, and that I dont have to do any. I think Thomas would like to say something THE PRESIDENT: Good morning, indeed it is facinating to watch what is going on, and I want to thankt he Rotherdams for their fine national contribution. Indeed it is a national event, because once the house is all done up, we have a few thousand - what's that - sixty five thousand tourists who will pass through the rooms over a four week period. So, it is really wonderfull to share the christmas decorations with everyone. Q: What is the theme? THE FIRST LADY: That is a State secret (Laughter) We will unvail it on friday. Thankyou all. THE PRESIDENT: Thankyou. END |
