(A minute's silence is observed)

Thankyou. You know, I always enjoy the congressional barbeque. Bipartisanship has never been better (Laughter) Yes we are in the middle of an election campaign (Luaghter) So it is with extreem abjection that I welcoem embembers of the Houster Party here tonight (Laughter) Ok, but on a lighter note, we are a democracy (Applause) and that means power rests in the hands of the people.

Tonight I want to welcome the 200 members of congress and their spouces, and thier children, ther staff, members of State Hall and Congressional Staff, to the Chateau for our Annual Barbeque. I want to welcome Speaker of Congress James Barker and mrs. Barker, along with their two grown up kids Jason and Perry. (Laughter) , Senet Chief Representative, the Houster Chief Representative, and the many congressman and women here today. Vce Presidnet Carosole, Wendy, welcome. And a very special welcome to Jenette Astor, wife of the Late John Jacob Astor, Speaker of Congress. (applause)As we celebrate the entry of Autumn, infact it's pretty entered already, (Luaghter) and the golden foilage, I want to welcoem you here to show the Nation's and my deep appreciation for the hard work Congress has put in to make our nation a better and stronger one. We have about 530 people on the South Lawn here, i was told.

We have worked hard to imporve our economy, our social security and our National  Security. We have shown we can put beauracracy aside and work in times of national Desaster like the recent Hurracaine Crisis. We have shown that we can pass legislation to improve the healthcare of our elderly, and we ahve passed legislation to band terrorism.

But there is much left to be done, we have disageed over the  Cirme Bill and other bills related to Gun control, and congress must always remember that's it's promary goal is to serve the people and is for the epople. So let us unite in bipartisonship ad enjoy this evening together. The food, the fun and some other suprises installed. .(applause)

Thankyou. (Applause)
