| The South Lawn The Chateau 5.56 PM WST THE PRESIDENT: I believe it is appropriate for me to give a statement with regards to the leaving of Ellen. Ellen has been a faithful and good Chief of Staff and Linda and I, want to wish her all the best as she moves on to be Ambassador at Large to the European Union. I beleive Ellen will excel as Ambassador at Large, and thus I am not dissapointed that she is leaving. I think the idea that Ellen has departed amists great distrust and anger is simply not true. Of course we had our differences, and I just want to clerify what was said in an interview with Fox Legoland yesterday, that what I ment - was that Ellen is a good worker, and it is up to her to decide, and I will support her disicion. She thus has decided to persue her dream, and I have helped her by releasing her. I think what is more important is that we move on from this sort of tit for tat fighting within the Chateau, for it is simply not true, and the Press is making it worse. I seek your understanding on this mater, as we join to bid Ellen a farewell. Q: Mr. President, will you be hosting a farewell - A: Linda and the staff is doing that as I am gone to Sherewood, so I have talked to Ellen and given her my best wishes. Thankyou and see you at Sherewood. Q: Thankyou. END |
