THE PRESIDENT: An eary start for most of us. (Laugher) I want to first of all welcome you all to the Chateau, especially our very good friends from New Zealand and Brazil. It is always a pleasure and an honor, to welcome foreign guests to this historic house.

I want to also welcome Ambassadors Chistopher Norris of New Zealand and Ambassador Jose Espaoa of Brazil. Thankyou both, we had a great meeting in the Blue Office just now. (Applause) I want to welcome Jim Kikerman, Preisdent of the National Council of Hispanics, Jason E. Paulow, President of the Western Hemisphere Think Thank Association, Lorien Murtha, Executive Dircetor of the New Zealand Federation Association for being here today.

It was a pleasure for me to visit beautiful New Zealand in 2005, and I knew the moment I stepped off Lego One in Auckland that New Zealand was a place to have trade with. (Laugther) (Applause) It is a beautiful country and I appreciated the products, the dariy and ground products that we import from new Zealand.

When I traveled in New Zealand in 2005, I was amazed to see how much natural resources New Zealand has. I also appreciated the value they see in Protecting their land, their natural surroundings and their geography.

The Federation has benfitted much, as I have with the recourses of New Zealand. Through this FTA, not only will we be able to bring in  more New Zealand made products, but they in turn will also be able to have more of the Federation.  In Asia we have FTAs with Australia , Singapore and Japan.

We look forward to persuing FTAs wth China, which I will send to congress in the coming weeks. We want to also work with South Korea, Vietnam and Indonasia. This free trade agreement will facilitate even better coorpartation and growth. I look forward to welcoming Prime Minister Clarke here to the Chateau next week.

Brazil is also a very important trading partner of the Federation. As neighbours within the Western Hampispere, I see it of extreme importance the need for us to work with our Southern Neighbours. We must salute their efforts of making ther own persuit of happiness. We have signed free trades with Chilie and now, we will sign a free trade with Brazil.

I do not believe free trade is the most important or the best way for South America to grow to prosparity. I think it will help some countries, but not all. It will help Brazil. South America needs to find it's own feet, it's own way of life and it's own systems of Government. We will surely help south America progress for the betterment of the South American people.

I look foward to welcoming President Da Silva to the Chateau later this month. The President is a fine man, and a wise politician. Brazil will prosper with good leaders like him, and Free Tade with us. (Applsue) I ook forward to us being able to work with our Southern Brothers, and our good friends from New Zealand. Will ambassador Espaoa and Ambassador Norris join me on stage for the signing of the agreements.

(The agreements are signed)

(Applause)
