| The State Dining Room The Chateau 8.05 PM WST THE PRESIDENT: I want to welcome once again Preisdent and Mrs. Bush to the Chateau. Thankyou Mr. President, I fondly remember your last visit here last year for my inauguration. I want to welcome Mrs. Bush back. We havent had you over for a while. (Laughter) I also want to welcome back, Secretary Rice, Dr. Rice and I met in January here, and it is a pleasure to meet you again. I want to thank you both, George and Laura, for hosting us in Hawaii late last year. It's a beautiful State and thank you for supporting the Federation's troops based there. This evening, We disucssed many issues, we talked about our differences, but more importantly, we discussed what we have in common. We talked about how impotant it is to have a prosporous and trade free Western Hamisphere. We talked about the importance of democracy of the Western Hamisphere. It is important that the Preisdent of the United States is visiting our neighbours in Latin America, to discuss the need for trade,FTAs and prosparity. I value President Bush's efforts and his friendship. I look forward to hosting you and Laura to dinner. (Laugther) Thankyou Mr. President. PRESDIENT BUSH: Thankyou Thomas. It is great to be back here, always an honor to be welcomed at the Chateau. We talked about the importance of trade between our two countries during this time, which can be rather tense at times.
