THE PRESS SECRETARY: Good morning, and a good Tuesday it is.  Today's briefing is spacifically for this week's, ten day trip through Europe and Africa. This trip is of course Three Fold. We have two summits and a visit through five countries.

While in Germany, the President will of course paticipate in meetings with G8 leaders at this years G8 summit, on Climate Change. And in the Canary Islands, the President will of course discuss EU trade with the Federation. In Africa, the President will view first hand hs Aid to Africa programme. The Preisdent sees it as an opptune time to take stock, the halfway mark of his Presidency, and to assess foreign policy.

Here's the Schedule, and then Mr. Cooper will take your questions and do his briefing.

We depart tonight 5 June around 8.30 PM from the Chateau and lift off aboard Lego One around 9.00 PM for Rostock, Germany. 7 hours later we arrive around 8.00 AM, 6th June, Germany time in Rostock Airport and immediately depart via helicopter to Heiligendamm. We are very honored to have Chancellor Merkel officially welcome the President at Rostock.

Upon our arrival in the summit veune, the Preisdent will go on to paticpate in talks with Chancellor Merkel, followed by Lunch and then a G8 leaders table meeting in the afternoon, where the President will be able to personally talk to each G8 leader.

Later in the evening, a social dinner for the G8 leaders and Spouses will take place, hosted by the Preisdent of Germany

On Thrusday, 7th June, Preisdent Cherrie will begin a round of bilateral talks with United States Preisdent Bush. The two leaders will meet for the first time since President Bush's visit to Metro in March. The Presidents main agenda is Climate Change.

Preisdent Cherrie will then go on to meet with the new Preisdent of France, Nicholas Sarkozy. He is looking forward to this meeting. Following which, and Official G8 leaders lunch meeting and first round table wll begin.

In the late afternoon, the Preisdent will meet aside with President Harper of Canada and discuss Issues relaed to the Americas including poverty and heathcare and of course the problems of pollution.

That evening, Preident Cherrie will paicpate in an Official dinner for G8 leaders.

On Friday, 8 June, the last day, President Cherrie will begin with aside meetings with various leaders including Presidnet Putin of Russia, and a summery private visit with Prime Minsiter Blair of the UK. I cannot confirm who else he will meet but it is possible he will talk aside with the Prime Minsiter of Japan if time permits. We will update on this.

Following which will be a closing Lego Germany Press Conference with the Chancellor and then in around noon we depart via Helicopter for Rostock, and we then we fly off for Spain.  4 hours later we arrve in Las Palamas, on the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa for the Lego EU Summit. We can confirm that President Jose Barroso will join us o the flight from Germany, where he is also attending the G8.

Upon arrival, President Cherrie will meet with the Secretary General of the EU and various officials. He will have a private dinner with Mrs. Cherrie on the first day, at the hotel.

On 9th June, the President will meet with President Barroso and the full day of summit meetings will get underway. The President will then hold a Press Conference with the President of the EU, and that will be capped with an Official Dinner hosted that evening.

On 10th June, the Preisdent will have a private morning and then we depart in the afternoon from Las Palmas for Lagos, Nigeria. About 2.5 hours later we will arrive in the evening in Lagos, and we wll be welcomed by the President of Nigeria. The Preisdent will make a brief stop at an elementary school, which runs the Aid to Africa programme.

On the 11th of June, the President will begin the day with talks with the Nigerina President on issues such as Oil, and of course Aid to Africa. He will then visit an Oil installation, and another school. The Preisdent will have lunch with local buisness leaders. In the evening, a Social Dinner hosed by the Preisdent of Nigeria will take place.

On the 12th of June, the Preisdent will spend the day visiting four institutions where the Presidnetial Inniciative on Aid to Africa has gone to.We depart for Botswana in the Afternoon. Three hours later we will arrive in Garabone, and there will be a tribal welcome ceremony by local tribe leaders. The President will go on for talks with the Preisdent of Botswana, followed by an Official Dinner hosted in his honor.

On the 13th of June, the Preisdent and Mrs. Cherrie will take a socal visit to a safari Nature park in Botswana, where they will visit first hand a Savannah nature reserve. The Preisdent will spend the day touring the reserve with local tribes men and park rangers, and will discuss Animal conservation in the evening, with environmentalists from across Botswana.

On the 14th June, the President departs Bostwana in the Morning for South Africa, our final stop. 2 hours later we arrive in the late morning in Prectorica, and we wil go straight to talks with the Preisdent of South Africa, and then we will continue on in Prectorica with the Aid for Africa Summit hosted in the hotel.

The President will spend the Evening in discussion with leaders across Africa and will give a key address.

On our final day in Africa, 15th June, the Preisdent will travel out of town to have a private meeting with former Preisdent Nelson Mandela. He will visit at his home and spend the morning there. In the afternoon, the President will go on to visit with former Presiden Mandela the prison where he was imprisoned in during his time. They will have dinner in Prectoria, at a local resturant, and we depart straight for the airport around 8 or 9 PM, and then we leave Prectoria for Metro City.

12.5 Hours later we will land at Metro Air Force Base on the 16th of June, at around 8.00 AM, and the Preisdent returns to the Chateau. And with that, John - thanks.
