| At 1343 metres or 4406 feet above Sea Level, Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the U.K. The name 'Nevis' comes from Gaelic word for heaven or clouds. Therefore, 'Ben Nevis' is 'mountain with its head in the cloud'. |
| Loch Lomond is the lergest fresh water Loch in the UK. The Loch is some 24 miles long and five miles wide and at its deepest point is some 600 feet deep. |
