MALTA Valentta

      Well now Im off to Malta. Flew into Valletta staying at Hotel Sliema Chalet, near Mediterranean Sea. Restaurant and everything top notch. Supper was good of Octopus, Squid, Great Salad, potato Soup Fried Rabbit w/garlic Canillas Wine Desert was Banana Kiwi pudding.

      Greece started the wine then to Italy. Well after a quick breakfast of oatmeal, eggs bacon toast. Im off on Malta to see the country. Malta was here when Rome and Carthage were fighting each other. Then Islams and Crusaders war between them. Napoleon was born in Italy then came back to occupy everything then rise and fall of the British Empire.

      Malta goes back to 5000BC then Byzantine rule, Goths Arab, Normans, Knights of St John, France Germany. Germany destroyed a lot of old churches which have been rebuilt. Great photos of Valletta the Capitol. Have traveled through cities of Zurries Marsaxlock, Zejtun, Marsa, Grand Harbor, Orend, Mqabba, Zebbug, so many places.

      Well here in Valletta Supper of Octopus soup. Bean and chicken Peas salad, Shrimp and Lobsters with rice mixed Vegetables Maltese Rice Puddin. Some Marsovin Wine.

      After a great breakfast, Have traveled through Robat, Birkirhara, Gzira, Mosta to Mellieho. Back in Valletta party time with some Email friends. At our party at this nice restaurant had all types of soups salads seafoods Spaghitti w/octopus sauce stuffed sword fish, plenty of deserts. Wine was La Valletta Vin Blanc Marsovin, even Pizza. At the party we had a Band so we dance or made at it. Back to Room to collapse.

      Speaking of Pizza Peasants for centuries had pizza. Egyptians and Greeks had Pizza. First pizza was in Naples for King Umberto 1st for him and Queen Margherita in 1889 by Raffacele Esposito. Pizza came to the US in 1905.

      Took plane to Gozo have room at Hotel Serena Beach Club, nice took nap to recover. Sat outside with a Vodka Drink. Supper Bread Fish Soup, Octopus Squid Salad Maltese Sausage Almond Cake. and house wine.

      Well after a rest traveled through Mgarr, Ozala, Xaghra, xlendie, Sannat, sat in Bictoria, and enough. Back to Valletta Malta. Last Supper Veggie Salad, potato Soup, rice and cheese bake Seafood galore (everything) Plum pudding .glass of Antonic Blanc, Marsovin white.

      Plane back to Ireland for few days with gifts for the family. Nice pint of Guinness was grand. Back in Colorado have to put stuff away. Have to put the wine from the countries but can wait.
