Genoa

            Ok now Drove to Genoa, lovely rooms, Hotel Genoa is the oldest over looking the Ligurian Sea, We are always eating. (Why not good Italian food) Had Poached Salmon, in a seafood broth, Italian salad and veggies. Peppered cheese, Parmesan Bread sticks, peach and raspberry cake with cream. Bottle of Apollonia Copertino Rosso. Then sat outside in the garden with Black Current Liqueur.

            Up early Had Sausage eggs bacon, toast jam juice, bacon coffee. With the rented car will travel the coast Massa, Lucca, crossed the Arno River, Siena, by the Ligurian Sea. Back to hotel through Pavia. Stopped in Torbale on Lake Garda. Had fish, salad, goat, cheese, and salami. Big Italian Bread, milk, and then glass of wine.

            Back in Genoa being thirsty had glass of actello red wine, mixed with vinegar and cold water, very relaxing. In Italy weather North Middle or south cooking and recipes are different.

            After a shower, Supper Baked Rabbit, with stuffing, red potatoes, peas, Mushroom soup, Bread with goat cheese. Dessert Torta di Ricotta (cheese cake with strawberries).

            Another day off to Assisi to visit the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, a 13th century church, where is remains are. Stations of the cross are over 200 years old. We are staying at Hotel Montebello Assisi. About 25,000 live here. Had a Salami and cheese with milk.

            Here at the church a picture of St Francis .We visited other churches, glad we have good walking shoes. So supper was duck breast, bread sticks, Minestrone soup, Pasta salad, and Italian sausage soup. Coffee, then Grappa Liqueur pretty strong. Tomorrow to Pisa.
