Poland

      Here in Warsaw Hotel Nowy Swiat in Historic area. Warsaw being destroyed and Russians help rebuild after Nazis left. 40 years of communist rule. River Vistula flows through Warsaw. Dates to 13th century. Supper was Red Cabbage Salad, mushrooms roasted with Garlic, Soup, Pork steaks in Red wine sauce, Potato salad, rolls, Crepes with apple filling. Had some House wine and a bit of Polish Vodkla.

      Alot of foreign beers. Sat outside with some Warka Beer. Have rented car crossed the Vistuea arrived in Glansh near a nazi concentration camp. All gone. Just monumets and cementeries. Here at Baltic Sea sure looks cold. Stayed at Hanza. With a grand seafood supper, salad, some crawfish, potato Bread and Apple Cake and a Lech Beer. Had a cup tae outside watching people. Some very friendly. Depends who the individuals are.

      Treblinka othing here Germans killed or burned there victims. Stones of different countries very sad. Sobibor death camps like Majdanek and Belzec. Stopped in Lubin at Hotel Campanile. Poland very inexpensive. Supper of flounder with cauliflower, Beet soup, Potato Salad, ice cream and Berry pie, milk and off to bed.

      Country is so beautiful as I drive one would never know what has gone on in Poland for all those years of being invaded and what they went through will spend last few days in Krakow and go to mass at Pope John 2. Have a nice room I'm in the old town. Sat outside with a local Beer and Ham Sandwich. Finally met some friends from last time. They took me around and had a great time. Visited Saint Wojciech church, St Peters and Paul St Marys Basilica built in 14th century.

      At outside restaurant, Had a nice Lamb sandwich, beef stew and a okacim beer. Visited old town Krakow, not much left. Mongols invaded in 1257. Off to visit to Auschwitz had 3 camps. Birkenau, seen train tracks, commandants office Buildings, gas chambers. A lot still there, very upsetting. Back to Krakow for a party. Plenty food and drink. Watched the polish dancing they are good. Did a coupe jigs of course wore Irish Shirts.

      Back to Warsaw to Ghetto over 450,000 detained and murdered. At the museum seen alot of photos mostly taken by Nazi soldiers. It was known, the US and England knew of this but did nothing. So sad.

      Well with friends had a roasted pig, all types salad, bean soup. Finally sat outside with local beer. Morning and with Ham, eggs, toast, coffee. I’m off to Hungary.
